Math Courses Online
Our online math courses cover the key learning objectives for K-8 math curriculum. There are three types of online math courses offered:
- Courses by Math Subject: Courses organized by subject address subject-related curriculum across multiple grade levels in a sequential fashion. These courses are ideal for remedial help or for self-paced accelerated learning. The Fractions Course and the Decimals & Percents Course cover ley elements of the Numbers and Operations math strand. The Geometric Shapes Course addresses the Geometry math strand and the Basic Measurement Course addresses the Measurement math strand. All of these courses are lesson-based and include assessments for pre-assessment and post-assessment purposes.
- Courses by Grade Level: These courses align lessons from the subject-based courses to grade-level curriculum standards based on the Common Core Standards for Mathematics. Lessons are sometimes repeated in a subsequent grade to ensure understanding of foundational and related concepts. Lessons are organized in Units which present inter-related learning objectives. Grade level courses contain assessments to identify competency at grade level and the possible need for remediation.
- Calculation Practice: The Calculation Practice Course has some instruction but rather than being lesson-based, it presents a series of calculation exercises and drills to learn math facts and develop mental arithmetic skills. This is important for early math education and is a key part of the Numbers and Operations math strand.
